Government confirms maintenance of Italian frigates in Portugal

The Ministry of National Defense revealed that all maintenance of the new frigates acquired from Italy will be carried out in Portugal. According to the government, the Assembleia da República will have access to all documents related to the acquisition of the vessels.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense denied any involvement of the Portuguese company NTG in the maintenance, emphasizing that there is no known relationship between the builder Fincantieri and the mentioned company. The ministry, led by Nuno Melo, reaffirms its commitment to transparency in this process.
