Rajya Sabha Approves Bill to Enhance NCDC's Role in Cooperative Sector
The Rajya Sabha has passed a bill amending the NCDC Act to broaden the cooperative sector's funding capabilities.
The Rajya Sabha has approved a bill aimed at enhancing the role of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in the cooperative sector. The NCDC is a statutory organisation established in 1963 under the National Cooperative Development Corporation Act, 1962.
According to the Minister of State for Cooperation, the amendment does not include provisions for additional budgetary financial assistance from the government, but rather expands the mandate and financial scope of the NCDC.
