Alberto Jordán appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Order
The government has appointed Alberto Jordán as the new Deputy Minister of Internal Order following his unsuccessful candidacy for the Senate.

Alberto Jordán Brignole has been appointed Deputy Minister of the Vice Ministry of Internal Order at the Ministry of the Interior (Mininter) on Wednesday, August 12. This appointment comes after Jordán failed to secure a seat in the Senate for the Renovación Popular party in the recent general elections of 2026.
The announcement of the appointment was made by Minister César Astudillo, highlighting the support from Keiko Fujimori. Jordán, who previously served as an advisor on citizen security at the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, has defended this new position and the work of his predecessor, the former head of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces.
